Description[edit | edit source]

Flower Girls is a great mod but it's rather dated, with some things unfinished and seemingly abandoned by the original author.

Flower Girls Enhanced is my attempt to breathe new life into the original mod with the following features; Visual overhaul for all six original Flower Girls, with high poly head and custom assets.

Brand new AI packages for all the Flower Girls. Two of them didn't have any AI packages at all, For example Sashwyn would never leave Haelga's bunkhouse due to a conflict in her AI package. Now they all have varied routines and will visit temples, inns, shops, Jarl's halls etc and wander round town. They'll also take shelter from bad weather (and complain about it) where applicable. Where possible I've added sleep locations too.

See the article for their full routines.

Five brand new Flower Girls.

  • Rekah, a Redguard in Falkreath.
  • Layani, a Nord in Morthal.
  • Mylfanwe, a Nord in Dawnstar (and Layani's mother).
  • Kavessa, a Dunmer in Raven Rock.
  • Plus Fjanni, a Nord with her own bodyguard called Brunt.

Fjanni will travel (teleport) between 7 vanilla inns each day at around 1am. She will also randomly change her outfit each day (random means she may also choose the same outfit as the one she's wearing) from a pool of six pre-defined outfits. As she's on the road you'll often see her wearing armour. For protection she has the mysterious Brunt, a bodyguard of unknown origins.

Fjanni will also visit more than 20 mod-added locations if you have them installed. See the article for more details.

New Voice Lines.

There are 100s of new voice lines created with a combination of splicing / reusing original audio and generated lines using ElevenLabs and the xVASynth tool.

NPCs will now comment (positively or negatively) if the player character or other NPCs are in a scene. Comments will vary by location, position you're in and whether you're inside or outdoors. They will also differ by the player's gender.

Selected NPCs will comment if their spouse or relative is in a scene.

Guards have their own voice lines if they see an NPC in a scene and will also react if they are near to a Flower Girl.

The Flower Girls will now make more fitting comments when you bump into them and have new lines to say to you when you talk to them.

Some of them will now solicit you from afar. I've tried to stick to the original flavour of the mod so there's nothing too explicit.

I've also reworked most vanilla voice types (male and female) for scenes, including some of the unique NPCs that were missing any kind of sounds for scenes. I've also made a generic voice pack that you can download (available in optional files) for males and females that will work with custom followers and other NPCs with non-vanilla voice types.

How to use the generic voice pack for custom voiced NPCs.

  • Download and install the male or female custom voice pack from optional files.
  • Look up the name of the voice type of the NPC you want to voice. You can use Creation Kit or xEdit to do this. For example if you want to give Sofia the follower a voice in scenes, her voice type is called \"JJSofiaVoiceType\".
  • Open the mod in file explorer (I use Mod Organizer 2 - right click/open in explorer). Open the sound folder then the voice folder, then the Flowergirls.esm folder and find the folder called 'Rename This Folder' and rename that folder to\xa0JJSofiaVoiceType.\xa0
  • Repeat the process for other NPCs who you want to have voices during scenes. The voice packs don't have an .esp so they won't take up a slot in your load order.

I've also added some post-scene comments to selected male voice types.

Notes/Questions.

  • I'd recommend you have Flower Girls scene length set to long or very long to get the most from this mod.
  • If you have my Jed the Guard mod installed there are some extra voice lines referring to Jed.
  • The mod has been cleaned and checked for errors in xEdit. It is ESL flagged.
  • I designed the ladies using Diamond Skin so their appearance may vary depending on your setup.
  • They will use whatever body and skin you have installed. If you want them to look like they do in the screen shots then I recommend Diamond Skin, but BnP Skin is also a good fit.
  • Comments are just comments. NPCs won't take any action based on what you're doing. EG guards won't arrest you, relationships aren't affected, it's purely cosmetic.
  • Scene voices are handled by the original mod and may repeat as they are random. I've just overwritten them with custom voice files. As a result, if you have subtitles on they may not always match what's being said. This is not something that can be changed.
  • Does it work with Ostim? No, none of the features will work with Ostim. There are already good dialogue mods for Ostim. My mod can be used alongside Ostim but none of the features will be triggered by using Ostim to start scenes.
  • Does it work with Sexlab? No, but I may consider reusing some of the dialogue for a future mod.\xa0\xa0My mod can be used alongside Sexlab but none of the features will be triggered by using Sexlab to start scenes.
  • Why doesn't it work with Ostim or Sexlab? My mod uses conditions for NPCs and the player being in certain factions, checking if scenes are running and using Flower Girls globals to check for things. None of these conditions will work if a scene isn't started by Flower Girls.
    • Questions about Ostim or Sexlab will be ignored or deleted.
  • Why loose files and not BSA? In testing compressing into a BSA I was experiencing CTD with the sound files. I've made the decision to leave it as loose files. Archive it at your own risk.
  • Any bugs or other issues with the original Flower Girls mod have not been fixed other than the following;
  • Added a persistent location to each Flower Girl NPC.
  • Added 'bump' dialogue to those that were missing it.
  • Added AI packages to those that were missing them.
  • Please don't report bugs in the Flower Girls mod on my mod page. They will be deleted.
  • If you want the Flower Girls to wear the Apachii Divine Elegance outfits shown in the screen shots you'll need my complimentary mod and the optional config file for this mod.
  • I started work on this mod long before Eleven Labs AI was a thing, so some of the dialogue is generated by xVA Synth. I may update this in the future.

Installation.

  • Simply install as you would any other mod using your favourite mod manager. A new game should not be required. As the mod uses a couple of scripts, removing it mid-game is not recommended.

Compatibility.

  • Not compatible with other visual overhauls for Flower Girls without patching.
  • Compatible with Immersive Citizens - I've put the Flower Girls in the Lumberjack job faction so Immersive Citizens excludes them from weather control.
  • AI Overhaul - Scripted version doesn't affect mod-added NPCs so should be compatible.
  • AI Overhaul Lite - untested.
  • As I've added invisible bed markers to some rugs in inns for them to sleep in, there may be minor incompatibilities with city or town overhaul mods but this will likely just mean they won't sleep properly.

Potential Issues.

  • Neck Seams - if you get neck seams you may have had another Flower Girls overhaul that changed their weights. My mod uses all the original weights as follows;
    • Sashwyn - 80
    • Lucy - 50
    • Saecia - 30
    • Aelwen - 90
    • Cerys - 100
    • Branwyn - 50
  • To fix neck seams, open the console, click on the NPC and type setnpcweight 80 (or whatever the corresponding weight is in the list shown). Then type disable, press enter followed by enable and enter again.

Dialogue Bug.

  • If you've installed the mod and you're not getting new dialogue, make a save then load it again. This should fix it.
