- Kaleb Dean I had a blast making this video. And it was just in my garage.I've been watching video creators like Oyinkro K 🎥, Diwas Basnet, Rayna van Beuzekom 🦕, Jay Clouse, and others in their networks to try and get a little better with every video. From transitions and lighting to script writing and YouTube cover packaging, there's so much to learn from these people. So when I needed a channel video promoting this weird HGTV/Twitch livestream mashup project, I decided to put what I've watched to work—and even if it doesn't turn out to be crazy effective, it's been crazy fun. No, I'm not a video creator, editor, remixer, or any of the above. But I do know how to build brands and make messaging around them. This is just a different medium that I'm learning.Instead of brand design or tips, here's a video about a mockup store. All this to say, Remember to enjoy the process of learning. No one gets better doing the same thing without an increase in difficulty day after day. (Although repetition is a great teacher!)It should be a little bit scary.A little bit nerve-wracking.and a little bit fun. 12 5 Comments

- Manoa Jonathan Andriamandimbisoa As artists and designers, the quest for the right path can be daunting. Especially when you have a million possible outcomes. How do you choose the right track to follow? Here are some curated thoughts on finding inspiration:- Make it a habit to explore where nobody else is looking. Whether it's a website or a logo icon, seek inspiration in unconventional places like magazines or unrelated design elements.- Don't overthink it. Simply focus on gathering ideas and letting your creativity flow.- Deconstruct what you're seeking – analyze textures, feelings, movements, details, and designs. This breakdown will assist in preparing for the implementation phase, aiding in the decision-making process on whether to pursue an idea or not.- Seek out work that ignites your passion. Look for inspiration beyond the ordinary, explore artworks that resonate with you, and draw motivation from artists who captivate your imagination.#DesignInspiration #Creativity #Artists #Designers 8 2 Comments

- Julie Meridian Posting as a reminder that the dominant players in creating generative AI visuals — as well as social media platforms that have benefitted from artists as users — continue to not do right by them. This article is an accurate summary of every aspect of this ecosystem today.I want this tide to turn. I want to see artists thrive with tools and platforms that enable them to be the ones that reap the benefits of their work. Until then, artists, protect yourselves and the value of your efforts.https://lnkd.in/gRaTzCYW 8 1 Comment
- Valerie Sebring Many times a layout requires multiple headshots for an about page, annual report or article listing important people. The problem: designers will get a variety of submitted headshots, some wonderful editorial-style images, some standard year-book style, some low resolution, and even selfies. Trying to create a professional, cohesive look, becomes a challenge with differences in photograph lighting and colors. The solution: A popular go-to remedy is the “make them all black and white” technique, but when dealing with low resolution issues, the solution has to be, “hire an illustrator.”As an in-house designer with a limited or no budget, I created this fun graphic style and found it an excellent solution to an ongoing problem. When you need something a little more artsy and out of the box, be bold! And it works well in both black and white and color!#artlover#digitalart#artmarketing#corporateportraits#portraits#illustration#illustrator#popart 4 2 Comments

- Blake Gentry We're entering the last 100 days of the year—a sprint before the holidays setin, to wrap up loose ends and set up for success. For family-owned servicebusinesses, this is the perfect time to make every day count. Here's a simple tool to help: the magic email.(https://lnkd.in/ginpneUw)Remember those prospects who seemed interested but then went silent? Insteadof letting them drift away, send this straightforward message:~Subject: Closing The Loop" Hi [FirstName];I haven’t heard back from you on [project/opportunity] so I’m going to assumeyou’ve gone in a different direction or your priorities have changed.Let me know if we can be of assistance in the future.Regards,[You] "~It's honest and gives them an easy way to respond, removing the emotionalreasons for the prospect to continue to avoid you. During this 100-day sprint,re-engaging these prospects can make a real difference.By using the magic email, you're clearing the path—either reigniting theconversation or freeing up your focus for other opportunities. As we push through these final days, let's make them count. On your mark,— B 1 Comment

- Curran Harrison The Database of Damn Damn Good Design is full of top-tier design studios, reference sites, and resources to help kickstart your next project. Here are 3 sites that I'm loving this week:1. SAVEE.IT — Jeremy Hsu showed this to me and it's already in my pinned bookmarks (this means a lot). Are you tired of all the random ads and BS you have to filter through to get anything good on Pinterest? I am. SAVEE is hyper-curated and only has good stuff. Most of the work skews that super clean experimental Nike Hypebeast vibe, but there's a lot of quality animation, color, type, and photography you could use for really any project. It works best with a subscription. (Sorry)2. Displaay (displaay.net) by Martin Vácha — 10/10 Type foundry with a great type selection and cool website. Trial fonts available to help sell clients. I'm looking at ROOBERT for a project right now.3. Milled (Milled.com) Scrapes emails from a bunch of popular brands. Goodbye digging around in your inbox for references. Very helpful if you design emails for a living. If you design emails for a living, you probably already know about this. Don't want to save these links? Don't worry. I did it for you. The Database of Damn Good Design is updated weekly.(Edit) The domain has moved! Visit https://lnkd.in/gzRYx8KJ 19 4 Comments

- Jayesh Joshi As designers, we often focus on perfecting our craft, but one area that can make or break our impact is how we pitch and present our work. I’ve seen great designs fall flat simply because the right words weren’t used to convey their value. Instead of diving into design jargon, try to tap into the emotions your work evokes. People connect with feelings, not just features. Command the room by engaging everyone—juniors, seniors, and everyone in between. Make eye contact and show your passion.Remember, it’s not just about talking at a steady pace; it’s about telling a story that captivates. Build and release tension, and turn your presentation into a narrative, not just a bullet-point list. Your work deserves to be seen and felt, so let’s make sure it’s presented with the conviction it deserves. #Design #PresentationSkills #Storytelling #CareerAdvice #Pitching 61 2 Comments
